A Cyber Odyssey
March 23 -- May 31, 2001
The conference is over! Our final synchronous session was Friday, May 25. Thanks to everyone who attended, volunteered, and presented during the conference.
Computers & Writing Online 2001 invited you to join in a computers and writing conference to be held entirely online:
- Real-time presentations took place on the MOO Connections
- Featuring Keynotables Trent Batson, Bill Condon, and Carolyn Handa, and other special events
- Asynchronous discussions led by special guests took place on the cwonline mailing list
- Some presentations took us to other online locations
- Special strands (like those at the onsite conference) weaved throughout C&W 2001 Online
Computers & Writing Online mirrored the onsite conference's theme: "A Cyber Odyssey." We showcased innovation, especially in encouraging the exploration of conference presentation genres in electronic environments, and we sought to provide conference scenes in which such innovation can be performed and enjoyed by both presenters and participants.

Our call for proposals was posted in November 2000, and proposals were accepted until 31 January 2001. A schedule of conference events was posted about 15 February 2001.

The organizers
Computers & Writing Online 2001 was organized by Bradley Dilger, Tari Lin Fanderclai, James Inman, Cindy Wambeam, and Greg Siering. A team from Ball State University, led by Linda Hanson and Rich Rice, welcomed everyone to the onsite Computers and Writing 2001 in May 2001.
