Here's a list of things you need to do to prepare for your Computers and Writing Online 2001 session, including important deadlines. Dates in red are absolute deadlines. If you don't meet these deadlines, you will not be included in the CW Online 2001 program.

February 19-28, 2001

  • We'll send you a MOO presentation helper, and you should begin corresponding with him or her about the kinds of help you need to prepare for your presentation. (For those who are giving presentations to show off other virtual spaces, we will offer to help you find someone who can be on hand during your presentation to answer newcomers' questions and so forth.)

  • Agree with your presentation helper about the time(s) and date(s) you will do your presentation (if you wish, you may do your presentation more than once, which will allow you to attract a wider audience).

  • Make sure that you have a character for the MOO Connections so that you can begin practicing and preparing.
February 28, 2001
  • Today is the last day to send us your choices for your presentation time(s) and date(s). Send your choices to the organizers at onliners@nwe.ufl.edu.
March 5, 2001
  • If you need help with your web pages, we need to have your materials by today. See HTML help for presenters for information on getting our assistance!

  • Your web site must be ready for attendees to view, and you must send us the URL today. It's fine if your website represents a project in progress. But the website must be open and you need to have substantial materials there that prospective attendees can begin reading. Send your URL to the organizing committee at onliners@nwe.ufl.edu.

  • The complete schedule will be posted today, and you should check the information about your session to make certain we got everything correct!

  • CW Online 2001 registration opens today--be sure to register yourself and invite your colleagues to do the same!
March 5-16, 2001
  • New MOOer sessions for presenters will be scheduled during this week.

  • We will hold several tours of the CW Online 2001 conference center on Connections. These tours will be for conference presenters only, and the purpose will be to give you a chance to view the possibilities and choose a location for your presentation if you don't want to use our standard location. You may, of course, explore the conference center on your own or with your presentation helper.

  • If your presentation is demonstrating a different virtual space than Connections, remember to prepare instructions for attendees to log in to your space!
March 16, 2001
  • If you wish to use a room other than C&W Online 2001 Sessions, you must let us know by today the name of the room on Connections where you want to hold your session. Send your choice to the organizing committee at onliners@nwe.ufl.edu.

  • If your session is not being held on Connections, you must let us know by today where the instructions are for attendees to use to get to your session. Send that information to the organizing committee at onliners@nwe.ufl.edu.
March 23, 2001
  • Opening day for CW Online 2001!

  • By this date the web site for your conference presentation should be nearly complete, so those planning to attend your session can read your materials and prepare for your session.
