Save many versions
It is very important that you save your images many times while
you work on them. It is also crucial that you save different
versions of your images, because some processes change your
image permanently. The Gimp only saves "Undo" during the
current session, so your image is stuck as it is when you quit the
program. That's why it's important to save your image in several
stages.
You can delete the extra instances of your image once you have the image the way you like it.

Save your image
- Click on file from the top menu.
- Go down to Save, and click it.

If it is the first time you are saving the image, you will get a dialog box or two similar to the one below. You can generally just click 'Okay' through these to save

To save your image with a different name, choose "File" and then "Save as..." to get to the save dialog box.
Don't forget to save your image in your public_html directory if you want it available for viewing from the web.
