NWE Help: Graphics: ImageMagick: Buttons
NWE Home :: Help :: Graphics :: ImageMagick
To make buttons, paint an area of the canvas with a color, pattern, or combination that you like using tools from the "Image Edit" toolbar. You also can make buttons from portions of existing images, including photographs, by cutting and pasting selections from those images into a new image. Once you have the background you want, add any type you want to appear on the button using the procedure described above. Make sure to press "Dismiss" when you are done so that you can return to the main toolbar.
Once you have the background and type that you want for your button, you are ready to crop the image to button size. Select Transform > Crop, then select the area of your new button image by dragging the mouse. Hit "Crop" once again, and the image will change to its new size.

To produce the button effect, select Effects > Raise. A
dialog box appears asking you to input a Bevel Width.

The bevel is what will appear to be the "sides" of the button. 5 will produce a medium sized bevel around the image. For larger "sides" pick a higher number; for smaller "sides" pick a smaller number. Select "Raise."
