You can use XV to take screenshots in the NWE. Just bring up XV (see the other sections of this manual if you don't know how), and push the "Grab" button. You'll see the following window.

There are two ways to take a screenshot.

The first uses the "Grab" button. Press the "Grab" button. Then, the next window you click with the left button will be grabbed as a screenshot. There are other options as well for the other mouse buttons -- the window above explains them pretty well.

We recommend you use the second option, and make screenshots in this manner:

1. Launch XV.

2. Click the right button in the XV window to bring up the control window.

3. Minimize all extra windows. Leave the window you wish to take a screenshot of up and visible.

4. Press the Grab button.

5. In the grab window, click the Hide XV windows box. This will minimize the XV windows during the grab process, making it easier to get the window.

6. Set the Delay to 10. This gives you ten seconds to move your mouse in step 8 below.

7. Press the AutoGrab button.

8. Move the mouse into the window you wish to grab, and wait. XV will then make the screenshot. The XV windows will reappear when your screenshot is done.

9. Save the screenshot as a gif if it contains few colors, or a jpeg if it contains many colors.
