NWE Help: MOO: Intro: Remote Access
NWE Home :: Help :: MOO :: Intro
You can enter MOOville from any computer connected to the Internet. All remote systems should be able to access MOOville via telnet. To connect to MOOville using telnet, start telnet (methods vary depending on you type of computer and the telnet program you are using) and open a connection to:
moo.nwe.ufl.edu 9898
If you have an NWE account, you can use a better client called TinyFugue (or tf). SSH to the NWE first (login.nwe.ufl.edu), enter your NWE username and password, then start a MOO session by typing:
mooville
(This is a shortcut for typing tinyfugue moo 9898. Tinyfugue is the name of a very basic MOO client.)
You can try our Java-based MOO clients, which are available at http://moo.nwe.ufl.edu/.
You can also get a program which allows you to access the MOO directly, called a MOO client. Find out more about them on our MOO clients page.
