NWE Help: Remote: SSH: Teraterm: Try it

NWE Home :: Help :: Remote :: SSH :: Teraterm

Now it's time to see if all that hard work paid off. Double-click the shortcut to TTSSH you placed on the desktop. A large window should come up, and you should also see a screen which looks something like this:

Tera Term SSH New Connection Screen

You'll need to enter the host name yourself. If you can't select the SSH button and change the port number to 22, the SSH installation didn't work. Review the instructions and try again.

If it does work, make sure to enter the values as they are filled out in the screenshot above, and click the "OK" button. The following window should come up:

Tera
Tera Term SSH Login

Enter your NWE username in the 'User name' space. Enter your NWE password in the 'passphrase' space. Make sure the 'Use plain passsword to login' option is selected. Then press the OK screen. You should see a window with a short message and a prompt, a lot like this.

You may get this screen sometime during the first use of Tera Term SSH. If so, just hit "Continue." If the error persists, contact your instructor.

Congratulations, you've installed SSH. Now check out our shell documentation to see what the heck you can do with it.
