NWE Help: Remote: SSH: Teraterm: TTSSH
NWE Home :: Help :: Remote :: SSH :: Teraterm
You need to add the SSH extension to Tera Term so you can get a secure connection to the NWE. To do that, you'll unzip the TTSSH archive and move its contents to the Tera Term folder.
Unzip the ttssh14.zip archive. Open the folder created when you unzip the archive (like before, you should be able to right-click on the icon and choose "Unzip to folder..."). You should see a folder which looks like this:
TTSSH folder after unzipping
If you do not see five (5) items in this window above, you need to make a change to your Windows settings before continuing. (If you do see five items, scroll down the page to continue.) From the "View" menu, select "Folder Options." Then select the "View" tab. You should see the following window (the first is for Windows 95, the second for Windows 98):
Folder options, Windows 95
Folder options, Windows 98
You need to make sure the "Show all files" box is checked, as it is in the windows above, so that you can see all five files. If the "Show all files" box is not checked, you will not be able to move files necessary for the function of SSH! If you change the setting, press "Apply," then "OK" before you continue.
Once you've made sure you can see all five files, move them to the folder where Tera Term was installed (more than likely, it's My Computer --> C: --> Program Files --> TTermPro).
Finally, drag the ttssh.exe icon to the desktop to create a shortcut. This shortcut will stay on your desktop. You can double-click on this shortcut to launch Tera Term SSH.
