NWE Help: StarOffice: Web Docs

NWE Home :: Help :: StarOffice

StarOffice has its own web-editing tool that allows you to make links, add images, and so forth. While we don't recommend that option for most users (it's a little clunky), StarOffice's "save to web" feature is pretty handy. Below are the steps for saving pages to the web.

  1. Open a text document that you've made using StarOffice.
  2. Choose the File menu and select "Save as...." The bottom of the save dialog will look like the image below.
  3. Save dialog for web documents

  4. Type a file name with the .html extension.
  5. Under "File Type," select "HTML" as shown.
  6. Save the document in your public_html directory.

Your document should now be on the web at:
http://www.nwe.ufl.edu/~username/filename.html
(of course, substitute your username and the filename of your document where indicated.)

That's all you need to do!
