The calculator, which is a small utility program called xcalc, allows you to use the mouse or keyboard keys for simple mathematics and trigonometric functions. Most NWE students won't use the calculator in day-to-day computing, but it's great for figuring a few grades or doing some quick math. (If you have a lot of math to do, use the spreadsheet in StarOffice.

To launch the calculator, click on the NWE menu, select Utilities, then select Calculator. After a short delay , the following window will come up:

You can use this virtual calculator as you would a regular electronic calculator. Type or use the mouse to enter numbers and functions.
