As you work on your page, it is important to check your progress by previewing your work, early and often. There are two ways to preview your work: with asWe and with Mozilla. Since you have not yet started creating your home page, previewing the page from Mozilla is the only way to see how it appears. The following steps teach you how to view your page from Mozilla:
Choose Mozilla from the NWE menu.
Choose "My Homepage" under "Bookmarks." Your home page will load.
To view other pages, type the name of the file in the "Location" field and press "Enter"
Later, once you have a working document saved with asWe, you may find it easier to view your work from asWe. Here is how to preview your progress from asWe.
Note: asWe previews with a temporary file, so any links or images you may add in the future will not be active from the asWe preview function. Because of these bugs, it is probably better to use Mozilla to preview your work.
Save your page (if you have not done so already).
Open Mozilla (if you have not done so already).
Select the preview function by clicking on the preview icon next to the 'W' in the second row of the toolbar.
Note: If the Icon is not in color, the document is not in HTML mode or is not saved. The Icon must be in color in order for the preview function to work.
The Preview button will open a window that will show you what the page will look like when viewed from the web.
Continue to preview your page as you progress through this tutorial. Now that you know how to preview your page, you can begin writing. The next section will teach you about the basic layout of a web page and the HTML skeleton.
