To start Mozilla Firefox, click the left mouse button on the NWE Menu (or right-click on the desktop) and choose "Firefox." In a few moments, Firefox will appear on your monitor as in the illustration below (this is a bit smaller than you may see):

When Firefox starts it loads the NWE home page: http://www.nwe.ufl.edu/writing/. This page contains information about new system components, problems, or software, as well as other useful information. It's a good idea to check this page for new items before moving on to other things.

Firefox usually takes about a minute to load. If it hasn't loaded on your terminal in about a minute, ask your instructor or a lab assistant for help. If an entire class starts it at the same time, it may take longer to open.
