Is the NWE different than my computer at home?

Probably. The NWE uses a UNIX operating system. Our XWindows GUI (Graphical User Interface) is configured to be very similar to Windows PCs, but there are a few differences. The help pages in this directory will give you more information about that.

Can I connect to the NWE and use NWE applications from home?

Probably not. You need a high-speed connection to run XWindows on a remote computer. However, there are many alternatives to NWE applications.

My desktop does not look like the normal NWE desktop. How do I fix it?

You may have logged in to the SOLARIS desktop by accident. We have a help page telling you how to fix it.

My Mozilla browser window is too big for the window. How do I fix it?

You need to reset your Mozilla defaults. See our help page about that to learn how.
