NWE Help: XWindows: Logout
Like using the mouse, there's nothing difficult about logging out, but it's a very important thing to remember. Here's what you need to do when finished with an NWE session:
- Save all the documents you've been working on.
- Close all applications by choosing "Quit" or "Exit."
- Open the NWE menu by clicking on the NWE button (on the task bar) or right-clicking on the green desktop.
- Select "Logout" (right) from the menu to exit from the NWE.
- Left-click "Exit" in the verification window.
Logging out is very important. If you forget to log out, the terminal you've been using remains accessible as if you were using it. Anyone could sit down at that terminal work with your documents, read your email, or modify your Web pages.
In the past, people have accidentally done damage to the work
of students who did not log out because they just sat down and started
working. Help us prevent this--
Note: Failing to logout can result in loss of NWE priviledges. Be responsible.
To sum up.... Always log out when you finish using the NWE system.
