NWE Help: XWindows: Task Bar
The task bar helps you keep track of your applications on the desktop. It functions very much like the Windows 95 (or 98, or ME, or NT) environment, so will probably seem familiar to you.
Parts of the task bar
The task bar has three parts, explained in detail below.
| Name | Description | Closeup |
|---|---|---|
| NWE Button | The NWE Button functions as the main menu for the NWE. By clicking on it, you can access a variety of applications and sub-menus. | |
| Task windows | Task windows appear along the task bar for each window you have open. Each window features an icon and the name of the program or file you are looking at. The task window for the window you have foregrounded will appear indented. You can foreground any task by left-clicking on the task window for that task. The example to the left is a task window for Netscape. | |
| Clock | The clock tells you what time it is. If you point the mouse at the clock for a moment, it will tell you the date. |
