As part of CW2K Online, I'm offering a hands-on demo of MITRE's
Collaborative Virtual Workspace, or CVW. The demo will take place on May
15 from 7-9 p.m. EDT, and I'm giving you a heads-up now because if you
want to come to the demo, you'll need to request a CVW account and install
the CVW client on your PC (or a PC that you get permision to use for the
demo; CVW unfortunately doesn't have a Mac client).

CVW is a place-based, persistent virtual environment that provides a space
for meeting, communicating, and sharing information and documents. It's
especially useful for collaborative writing projects, and has been used
successfully by writing classes. CVW is open-source software; it is
available at no cost, with its source code, to all who agree to its
license.

For the CW2K demo, I will provide accounts on a CVW server that I
administrate as a consultant of the MITRE Corporation. If a PC
application is a practical choice for your classes, or if you just like
knowing what kinds of virtual workspaces are available, I'd love to see
you at this demo.

Please check out http://web.nwe.ufl.edu/~tari/cvwdemo.html, and let me
know if you would like a CVW account for Monday's demo. Let me know also
if there are questions you need answered in order to attend the demo--I'd
really like to see you there!
