Will do, Jude! But actually, what I was asking was not so much "how could such
a strange thing ever happen?" as "how can a person both say 'yup, it'll happen'
and 'nope, I'd advise against it'"? Seemed odd--not that I'm free of
contradictions myself. ;-) Anyway, it sounds exciting to me, but geez--if you
make it seem *too* appealing I'm gonna hafta head down Michael Day's way and
start taking classes again. Eek! I'm not sure I'd have the stamina to teach a
full load along with all the ups and extras, be a family sort of person who can
legitimately claim to bathe and feed her children with some predictability,
*and* be a doctoral candidate. Most days, I'm lucky to find matching socks.
Still, your obvious enthusiasm for your project and the overall movement *is*
catching. Very much so. I'll look forward to hearing more.

Kathy at C.O.D. (Just betting there's a grad student or two at UT Austin
howling at the injustice, and discovering a deep and abiding but heretofore
unexamined attachment to print. So it goes--and often much faster than anyone
predicts.)
