[online2k] Many, many thanks

[online2k] Many, many thanks

As Computers and Writing 2000 Online closes, I want to say thanks to all
of you one more time.

Thanks to all of you who led MOO practice sessions and who served as MOO
helpers for presenters. Your gifts to those who had not used MOO before
or who had not given presentations in MOO were in evidence at every
session, where all the presenters looked like pros and the attendees were
able to participate fully in the discussions.

Thanks to all of you who organized and chaired the forums on Online2K. All
those preparations and all your work rounding up interesting combinations
of participants and posing thoughtful questions made these forums happen.

Thanks, too, to the invited participants in the Online2K forums. We all
learned so much from your widely-varied contributions. Thanks for
taking--giving, actually--the time to read and respond to the discussions.

Thanks to all of you who presented your work at CW2K Online. In some
ways, preparing for an online presentation is even more work than
preparing for a face-to-face conference presentation, and you were all
just terrific--people are still talking about what great sessions and
demos and workshops they attended.

And thanks to all of you who participated. Everyone made this conference
a fascinating and successful experience for each other. I hope all of you
discovered some new friends and some new collaborators through this
conference--I sure did!

Thanks also to the CW2K "In-Person" Committee--Dene Grigar, John Barber,
and Hugh Burns. Dene, thanks for inviting us to work on the online
conference. John, thanks for advertising the online conference
information in your website. Thanks to all of you for acknowledging our
work with the gift of registration for the f2f conference, too--you *know*
that was appreciated! And Hugh, your visit to the CW2K Online closing MOO
party was, well, just plain groovy!

A few closing details, which I know the rest of the organizing committee
will expand as necessary:
---The CW2K Online website, http://web.nwe.ufl.edu/cw2konline, will stay
up, so you can continue to access the logs and archives.
---The address onliners@nwe.ufl.edu will continue to reach the CW2K Online
committee in case you have questions or concerns about CW2K Online.
---We can really use your comments as we work with the 7C's to figure out
how to go about ensuring continuity for the online conference. Fill out
this form! http://www.furman.edu/~jinman/cw2k/responseform.html
---There's no need to sign off this list--Bradley will close it out for us
after tomorrow.

And speaking of the organizing committee, let's hear it for Cindy Wambeam,
James Inman, and Bradley Dilger. I don't think a day's gone by since last
summer that they didn't all put in time thinking about and working on CW2K
Online, and in addition to doing outstanding work on everything they
agreed to do, every time one of those hundred day-to-day unanticipated
things popped up, it seemed like James or Cindy or Bradley had it taken
care of before anyone could even get a good look at it.

Cin, James, Bradley--say "collaboration" to me any time, and I'll follow
you anywhere. You three inspire me.

Happy CW2K Online, everyone! Thank you all for letting me work for you
and with you!
